Why we love it

Embodying the portable DAC at its best, the EarMen Eagle is the latest DAC-AMP of the brand. Single-ended version of the Sparrow, it is equipped with the latest-generation Sabre DAC capable of decoding all high-resolution digital streams, in PCM as well as in DSD! 

Like AudioQuest's Dragonfly Red, the EarMen Eagle adopts the very popular USB key format. Self-powered, it can be connected to a PC/MAC and an Apple or Android smartphone, with an OTG adapter (USB-A to USB-C provided). We recommend the ddHiFi TC28i, Lightning to USB-C adapter for iPhone owners, which will ensure a perfect connection of the DAC.

At the heart of the EarMen Eagle, we find the ES ES9281 chip, which already equips its big brother in the 9281Pro version. Able to decode PCM, DXD streams up to 32bit/384kHz, this chip also manages DSD64/128 streams to allow you to enjoy all your tracks, in maximum quality. 

Entirely developed and assembled in Europe, the EarMen Eagle benefits from an aluminum chassis, covered with beautiful tempered glass. Nestled in this case is the 4-layer gold-plated PCB, which houses the SABRE chip and the Super LOW ESR capacitors, perfectly isolated from parasitic waves.

With its single 3.5mm Single-ended headphone output, the EarMen Eagle supports headphones and in-ear monitors with an impedance between 16 and 150 ohms, maintaining a harmonic distortion rate lower than 0.004%. Excellent values that compete with much more expensive models!
